ATT Uverse Review for San Antonio

If you’re thinking about getting ATT Uverse service in the San Antonio area, this is my ATT Uverse review for the Internet, phone, and TV package.

First, How much does ATT Uverse cost?  The ATT Uverse price for the big 3 package is about $130 currently for us.  Right now, there is a deal on the ATT website for $99/month for 1 year.  I’m almost positive this doesn’t lock in the price, but to be honest the ATT website is so unclear it’s hard to tell.

There are several different packages you can choose from which range in how many TV channels you get and what those channels are (whether you get Showtime, HBO, Cinemax, etc.)

U-Verse was a little bumpy at first and we needed to call servicemen to come out to the home multiple times for both Internet and TV service, but the service has become a lot smoother now that age has set in.  The TV used to frequently go in and out of reception or pause during a program.  Now pauses only happen rarely.

One problem that I have continued to have is with the channel changers.  The battery will be completely charged and work for flipping channels, but won’t adjust the volume.  It’s not the angle of the channel changer.  It’s not the battery.  It’s something with the “cable box” (for lack of a better term) and the channel changer.  If you decide to buy ATT Uverse, before the serviceman leaves, make sure the channel changer works for each box.

Each box you get for your home costs extra.  I think it’s like $10-$15 but I don’t remember for sure.

In response to problem calls, ATT service reps are usually responsive and you’ll get a live person after going through the typical automated BS (I hate the automated answering phone service buffer companies place between you and them when you need them).

Overall, I give ATT Uverse a B+ grade.  In the beginning, things were very rocky and they deserved a C- but since then, the ATT Uverse service has dramatically improved.  The price is more than I’d like to pay but it is what it is.

What are your user reviews and experiences whether good or bad?
