The State of Texas Appliance Rebate Program is all out of money in the first day it started. If you tried calling, you most likely got a busy signal (aka no way in hell we’re answering the phone now that we’re out). If you went to the Texas Appliance Rebate website, then you got a non-responsive webpage that says, “if you don’t get through, try again.” Why don’t they just tell you to stop trying, we don’t have any money left?
The state has now created a waiting list for the many people who were unable to cash in on the Texas Appliance Rebate program. The very people who did get a Texas rebate for their appliances will need to wait until April 16th to get it.
This all sounds way too suspicious. Almost like false advertising a program that the state of Texas had no intention of making good on for the overwhelming amount of people it knew were coming. This appliance rebate program ran out of money within at most a few hours on the first day it was launched? Come on, give me a break. What’s the real story? Supposedly there was $250,000 to dole out.
What’s especially annoying is they chickened out of answering people’s phone calls and then tell you to keep trying on the website when they know they’re not giving out anymore rebates. I’m willing to bet some people spent a few minutes refreshing their computer because of this.
