It’s Almost Football Season

And you know what that means.  If you don’t have a block buster TV, you’re going to want one.  So right now I’m researching the best deals on TVs to find out how to get the biggest TV with the best picture.  Hopefully there is a sale ad coming up I can latch on to.  I’ll be studying the prices at Conns, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Circuit City and see if I can’t give you a blogger’s choice on the best overall value.  You can’t get a new big screen every season, but when you’ve had your current TV for over 5 years I think you’re entitled to an upgrade.

Is Red Box Worth It?

The secret out and now the lines are getting longer.  Yes, there are about 60 dvds of varying quality you can rent at any given time for $1 but are you really saving all that much?  You can’t really rent more than 1 DVD per day unless you plan on just giving your whole time to movies.  Also, you have to be right back at the redbox if you plan on taking it back on time, which for some of you will inevitably lead to another movie and another return and… well you see the cycle.

I’ve been there.  I’ve rented DVDs, but I think I’m stopping.  I’m not that big of a movie person anyways so it won’t be hard for me.  It’s making it easier that now I have to wait 10 minutes to actually grab the once convienent movie because of bulging lines and the noticably slow vending machine.  There was even an instance where some 20 year old girl was rude enough to step in front of the people waiting in line behind me so she could just “return her two dvds”.  Returning multiple dvds takes at least 45 seconds which is no short span when time is standing still with 4 parties waiting.

It’s all rediculous and the utility once present in these self serve movies is gone.

I’m through with redbox.
